- black screen after log in (2024/12/02 23:25)so i know how to get past it but the cause i don't know. so when i log in there is sometimes a blank screen, one of those black screens your monitor is on but its just black so there is a signal. how i get to my desktop is ctrl+alt+F1 and then i'll hit ctrl+alt+F2, if F2 doesn't work ill do the F1 again and then it will show my desktop. i tried the ctrl+alt+F1/F2 because i saw a form about it and they said bring up the terminal and i looked up how to bring up the terminal do see whats up and it got my screen back. its rather annoying and i was wondering if anyone knows whats up? today i got Moonlight and put Sunshine on my Windows PC and when i exited from Moonlight i got the same blank screen Edit: i use KDE x11 submitted by /u/HunterBearWolf [link] [comments]
- USB ports aren't working (2024/12/01 20:55)First off I'd like to say that I'm very new to Linux. Earlier today I had an issue where I couldn't log in even with the correct password. I decided after some consideration to switch to mint because I'd heard it's a lot easier for newcomers. But now my USB ports aren't working so I can't open the boot menu on start up. I'm not dual booting so I can't try and see if it works on any other operating system and I'm not on a laptop so I have no access to a keyboard or mouse. Is there anything I can do? submitted by /u/Aja9001 [link] [comments]

- VSCode doesn't like the MesloLGS NF font, or I'm doing something wrong. (2024/12/01 11:30)So I have powerlevel10k installed because it looks awesome, but I'd like to have it in my integrated terminal too for VSCode. So system wide font is MesloLGS NF, I changed the terminal theme too, and also in VSCode terminal.integrated.font.family, yes that has been changed. I can see the icons, so it must be working but the only thing I can't figure out is how to get these blurred lines. So has anybody figured this out? I must be doing something wrong. But I can't figure out the solution. submitted by /u/TastyDepartureFrom [link] [comments]

- Game controller stopped working after the latest stable update (2024/12/01 01:09)After the latest update my controller (Xbox series control) won't be recognized by the system, neither connected by usb or using the wireless dongle (via xone from the AUR, focus on the usb part). Before the update I was using kernel 6.11 and the controller worked just fine but I decided to switch to 6.12 after the update and in neither is working right know. I'm speaking of the kernel because when I tried 6.6 LTS it works just fine even after the update. submitted by /u/Naive-Marsupial-3990 [link] [comments]

- MSI Katana with 4050 RTX GPU fails to start GUI (2024/11/27 11:29)SOLVED - I bought a MSI Katana with 4050 RTX GPU for my wife. Neither of us are gamers so just getting it working is fine. The live USB was made with manjaro-xfce-24.1.2-241104-linux610 and the checksum was correct. It boots fine and appears to install fine. However the install fails to start the GUI. I tried ALT F2 and was able to log in. The result of inxi is here Seems like there are 3 graphics drivers installed? Can anyone help me to get the GUI working? submitted by /u/msjs08 [link] [comments]
- Laptop shuts down at 40%. (2024/11/26 13:44)I am running manjaro linux kde on my HP laptop. I recently got a new battery a few months back in August. It was working fine but. But from a few days I have been experiencing this issue. What happens is that my laptop randomly shuts down below 40% and won't turn on, until I plug in the charger and only then it boots in. And it starts to charge from 40%. I searched online and found a calibration method like using laptops until it shuts down then charge it again to 100% and then etc. I did that but again it still shuts down below or at 40%. Any help is appreciated. submitted by /u/Drshponglinkin [link] [comments]
- Why is Manjaro reporting old packages? (2024/11/26 00:25)I'm using Manjaro Linux kernel 6.11.10-2. "Add/Remove Software" is reporting that package qBittorrent is available from "Official Repositories (extra)" at version 4.6.7-1 and this is simply not correct (current). A quick visit to the Arch Linux Package Search reveals that Arch is current at version 5.0.2-1 (and has been for quite some time now). Am I supposed to be doing something to stay current? Is this just "Manjaro being Manjaro" (intentionally running behind). TIA. submitted by /u/IAmAnAudity [link] [comments]
- Recently installed, new to linux. Touchpad is acting really innacurate? (2024/11/25 20:53)My touchpad on my laptop isn't as accurate as it was in windows, which means placing my cursor on certain things is *really* annoying. Is this a known issue? I've looked around and I can't find anyone else who has reported this issue. I'm using XFCE. submitted by /u/Cubicshock [link] [comments]

- Quick tip for pinning a link shortcut to dock (2024/11/24 19:49)I was googling this for about half an hour yesterday, and all the answers were very old and didn't work for me. I was trying to pin a shortcut to my nextcloud deck to the dock so I could access it with one click. This is in gnome 47 on latest manjaro. The tutorials online said to create a desktop app link in /usr/share/applications. Didn't work for me for whatever reason. I downloaded epiphany with the intention to set it as the homepage and have a second browser just for nextcloud. I found out epiphany has a built in tool to pin a url to the dock as an application! Now I can one click to go-to my nextcloud interface and it's a nice neat item on my dock with the correct icon and everything! Just wanted to share the tip since I didn't have much luck finding this info anywhere else. submitted by /u/FieldsofBlue [link] [comments]
