BSD Router Project (BSDRP) is an embedded free and open-source router distribution based on FreeBSD with Quagga (a software routing suite) and BIRD (an open-source implementation for routing Internet Protocol packets). Unlike other embedded networking tools, BSDRP focuses exclusively on routing packets and not on advanced firewall techniques. Additional functionality can be added to the operating system via FreeBSD's ports collection.

iDeal is an MX Linux-based distribution, with various privacy and security settings enabled by default. Privacy and security are the main stated goal of the project, offering to surf, shop, trade and bank online with peace of mind, without advertisements, tracking, logging, bugs, viruses or unwanted disclosure of personal information. iDeal OS was formerly available in two editions, "Emerald" and "Diamond", but these were merged into a single product in 2026, with the extra features of the "Diamond" edition now only available to users who contribute financially to the project.

openmamba GNU/Linux is a distribution for personal computers that can be used on notebooks, desktops, servers and Raspberry Pi computers. It works as an installable live DVD/USB images, offering one of two desktop environments: KDE Plasma or LXQt. The distribution uses RPM packages managed through the DNF package manager. Software can also be fetched and installed from Flatpak repositories.

Clonezilla Live is a Debian-based live CD containing Clonezilla, a partition and disk cloning software similar to Norton Ghost. It saves and restores only used blocks in hard drive. With Clonezilla, one can clone a 5 GB system to 40 clients in about 10 minutes.

Velox Linux is a user-friendly, Arch-based desktop Linux distribution forked from the Kiro project. It boots into an Openbox desktop and launches the standard Calamares system installer which offers three popular desktop options - KDE Plasma, Cinnamon and Xfce, all using the Wayland display server. At the heart of the distribution lies the Velox Control Center, a custom utility designed to facilitate various common administrative tasks, such as installing applications (Pacman, Chaotic-AUR, AUR, Flatpak) and GPU drivers (NVIDIA, AMD, Intel), switching between available Linux kernels (Velox, Arch, LTS, Zen, Hardened and Real-Time), adding new desktop environments (GNOME, Hyprland), managing Btrfs snapshots, updating the system, and refreshing and fixing keyring issues. Velox Linux is suitable for Linux beginners, gamers and power users alike.

EznixOS is a live Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch. It offers three editions of the product, containing a customised Xfce desktop (with extra software), a non-customised Xfce desktop, and a non-customised KDE Plasma desktop. It can be installed to a hard disk using the standard Calamares system installer. Besides the three Debian spins, the project also develops and distributes files, scripts and documentation for building customised live Debian images.

Valtux OS is a desktop Linux distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch and featuring the KDE Plasma desktop. Developed in Switzerland, it provides out-of-the-box support for all official languages (French, German, Italian and Romansh) and keyboard layouts used in the country. The distribution includes many popular productivity and multimedia software and is intended for all types of users - from complete Linux beginners to experienced power users.

Qubes OS is a free and open-source, security-oriented operating system for single-user desktop computing. Qubes OS leverages Xen-based virtualization to allow for the creation and management of isolated compartments called qubes. These qubes are implemented as virtual machines (VMs). This allows each component of the operating system to be isolated from other pieces, preventing compromises from spreading or information from leaking.

Recalbox is a dedicated operating system for running video games on emulated retro and console platforms. Recalbox can also be used to run the Kodi media centre. The distribution's interface is primarily navigated with a console game controller, though keyboard support is available for many functions.

Home Assistant OS (HAOS) is an independently-developed, Linux-based operating system optimised to run Home Assistant, an open-source home automation tool. It focuses on local control and privacy. HAOS uses Docker as its container engine and deploys Home Assistant Supervisor as a container. Home Assistant Supervisor in turn uses the Docker container engine to control Home Assistant Core and Apps in separate containers. The product is available for various single-board computers, like Raspberry Pi or ODROID, but it also supports x86_64 systems with UEFI boot mode.

AUSTRUMI (Austrum Latvijas Linukss) is a bootable live Linux distribution based on Slackware Linux. It requires limited system resources and can run on any Intel-compatible system with a CD-ROM installed. The entire operating system and all of the applications run from RAM, making AUSTRUMI a fast system and allowing the boot medium to be removed after the operating system starts.

Alpine Linux is a community developed operating system designed for routers, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP boxes, containers, and servers. It was designed with security in mind; it has proactive security features like PaX and SSP that prevent security holes in the software to be exploited. The C library used is musl and the base tools are all in BusyBox. Those are normally found in embedded systems and are smaller than the tools found in GNU/Linux systems.
